Domestic rice prices
In many localities today, fresh rice prices continue to be high, transactions are slow, and few people buy. In An Giang, transactions are slow, mainly buying rice that has been pre-deposited. In Soc Trang, new transactions are slow, and farmers offer high prices. In Long An, prices fluctuate little, demand is quite slow, and few new deals are made. According to an update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, today's rice price in this locality increased slightly by 200 - 300 VND/kg for some varieties.
Specifically, the price of fresh Dai Thom 8 and OM 18 rice was raised by traders to 9,200 - 9,400 VND/kg, an increase of 300 VND/kg and 200 VND/kg, respectively.

In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the supply is sporadically, in small quantity, the warehouse has slightly increased the price of flat and sticky rice. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), the rice is sporadically, the price is stable, most of the rice is weak and general, there is little good rice.
Rice prices at An Giang market also remained stable, with white rice usually listed at around 17,000 - 18,000 VND/kg; fragrant rice from 17,000 - 22,000 VND/kg.
In other areas of the Mekong Delta, rice prices remained stable. IR 504 raw rice was quoted at VND10,150 - 10,300/kg, IR 504 finished rice reached VND12,300 - 12,400/kg.
At retail markets, rice prices remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Regular rice fluctuated at 16,000 - 17,000 VND/kg. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of 28,000 VND/kg. Fragrant rice with high prices fluctuated at 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice 17,000 - 18,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice 21,500 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice 22,000 VND/kg; common white rice 17,500 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 21,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice 18,500 VND/kg; Thai Soc rice 21,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice 22,500 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, the price of dry bran in localities remained stable at 5,900 - 6,000 VND/kg; fragrant broken rice reached 9,000 - 9,100 VND/kg.
Similarly, the glutinous rice market has not recorded any new fluctuations. Currently, IR 4625 (fresh) glutinous rice is being traded at 8,100 - 8,200 VND/kg; 3-month fresh glutinous rice is from 8,100 - 8,300 VND/kg.
Export rice price
In the export market, according to data from the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the export price of 5% broken white rice from Vietnam remained stable at 514 USD/ton; 25% broken rice was priced at 482 USD/ton, and 100% broken rice was at 405 USD/ton.
According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in November 2024, Vietnam's rice export volume reached 700,000 tons, with an export value of 444.9 million USD. Accordingly, the total volume and value of rice exports in the first 11 months of 2024 reached nearly 8.5 million tons and 5.31 billion USD. Compared to the same period in 2023, Vietnam's rice exports this year grew strongly, with a growth of 10.6% in volume and 22.4% in value thanks to high demand from international markets and improvements in product quality.
Currently, the Philippines is Vietnam's largest rice consumer market, accounting for over 45% of Vietnam's rice export market share, followed by Indonesia and Malaysia. Notably, among the group of 15 largest rice export markets of Vietnam, Malaysia recorded the strongest growth. The value of rice exports to Malaysia increased 2.3 times, demonstrating the increase in demand and potential for export cooperation between the two countries to expand and develop the Vietnamese rice market in the Southeast Asian region.
