The loving meals from teachers at Chau Phong Primary School (Quy Chau) have helped motivate students to study hard in class. With teachers like that, students no longer have to go hungry or have full meals, no longer have to eat instant noodles or quickly swallow cold rice for lunch.

Chau Phong Primary School is located in a disadvantaged area of Quy Chau district. With the characteristics of primary school, students will study 2 sessions/day. Because the distance to school is too far, many students currently have to bring their lunch and stay at school for lunch. Photo: My Ha

Out of compassion for students who are far from home, for the past 7 years, teachers at Chau Phong Primary School have voluntarily deducted their salary to cook 2 meals a week for boarding students at the school. The contribution is small (leaders 100,000 VND/month; teachers and staff 50,000 VND/month), but behind it is the teachers' heart for disadvantaged students. Photo: My Ha

The teachers' menu for students includes stir-fried vegetables, fried eggs, meat cooked with tofu and vegetable soup. In addition, students will bring rice or sticky rice from home. Parents will provide the remaining two meals of the week for their children. Photo: My Ha

After a warm lunch, the students will sleep at school in old classrooms that have been renovated into boarding houses by teachers. Teacher Luong Thi Ha, who has worked at the school since 2005, shared: I feel very happy and pleased to be able to contribute a small part of myself to the students' meals. In our class, there are also 2 students participating in this "Love Meal" program and they are both in especially difficult circumstances, one has a divorced parent and lives with her grandmother, another has a father serving a prison sentence. Chau Phong Primary School is the school with the largest number of students in Quy Chau district. However, more than 60% of the school's students are from poor households. Due to limited funding, the school can only provide boarding for more than 30 students, who are the "poorest among the poor". In addition, the school's students are currently benefiting from the "School Milk" program for children from poor and near-poor households. Photo: My Ha

In addition to being provided with full meals, the school’s students are trained by teachers in self-care skills and awareness when living in a collective environment. With teachers, students attend school more diligently, and there are no more students dropping out of school halfway. Photo: My Ha

The whole school has 25 classes but only 34 teachers, a low ratio compared to actual requirements. Although all teachers in the school have to work overtime, during the week, teachers still volunteer to stay at school to take turns at noon, supporting the students who stay at school. Photo: My Ha

Maintaining student numbers and improving quality are the top priorities of Chau Phong Primary School. Therefore, to maintain the achievement of being an excellent unit for 3 consecutive years, receiving a Certificate of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee is the sacrifice and tireless dedication of teachers. Many teachers in the school have volunteered to teach extra classes on weekends to support weak students, taking them home for further training. Teachers are also willing to support students with books, notebooks, shirts, and pants if they encounter difficulties. Photo: My Ha

Through concrete and practical actions, the "Studying and following the moral example and lifestyle of Ho Chi Minh" by teachers of Chau Phong Primary School has contributed to sowing the seeds of dreams for students in the highlands. With teachers, schools, and beloved friends... the children's school days are truly "happy days". Photo: My Ha

When implementing the 2-session/day teaching program and especially when the education sector implemented the new General Education Program, many of our school's satellite schools were merged to create opportunities for students to study IT and foreign languages. However, due to the long distance, the circumstances of most of the students are that their parents work far away, live with their grandparents, many of them are in very difficult circumstances, so taking their children to school 4 times a day is very difficult. At first, we saw many students having to bring their meals from home to school and staying in class was very difficult. Therefore, implementing the campaign "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh", the school's staff, teachers and employees determined to do something meaningful, for the students. The charity meals were implemented from such a simple thought.
Because there are many poor students, but the teachers' contributions are limited, we can only support poor students and those in difficult circumstances. The teachers' greater wish is to have more funds so that all students from far away can eat and sleep at the school.
