Every Saturday and Sunday, women in 13 branches divide into groups to collect scrap, then sort and sell it.
On average, each branch earns over 200,000 VND per week, which will be contributed to the general fund to establish savings books for poor members. In addition to collecting scrap, members also promote the classification of waste and scrap that can be reused to protect the environment.
Over the past month, from the scrap collection model, the Women's Union of Chau Hoi commune has saved more than 2 million VND, established savings books and given to female members with the will to escape poverty in the commune.
Ms. Lu Thi Le - President of the Women's Union of Chau Hoi commune said: "Currently, in the commune, there are still many member households who want to escape poverty. Besides the support of the Party and the State, women have also raised their own funds to help the poor households. The collected money will be used to create savings books to give to poor members."
