A series of changes on Vinh streets in the coming time that people need to know
(Baonghean.vn) - To limit traffic congestion, in the coming time there will be a series of changes on the streets of Vinh City.
Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has just sent a document to the Department of Transport and Vinh City People's Committee regarding the implementation of solutions to prevent traffic congestion in Vinh City.
Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee assigned Vinh City to urgently review the traffic light system at intersections to ensure stable operation 24/24h; fix the countdown timer at all existing traffic light clusters to facilitate people and vehicles participating in traffic. At intersections, crossroads, and roundabouts with traffic lights, vehicles are allowed to turn right by means of signs or traffic lights. Repaint the faded road marking system to ensure its effectiveness.

At intersections, crossroads, and roundabouts (Roundabouts between Le Hong Phong, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Kim Dong, and Hong Bang streets; Le Hong Phong Street intersection with Nguyen Duc Canh Street; Le Hong Phong Street intersection with Nguyen Van Cu Street; Roundabouts near the old Customs Office; Nguyen Sy Sach Street intersection with VI Le Nin Avenue; Nguyen Sy Sach Street intersection with Nguyen Van Cu and Ha Huy Tap Streets), there will be painted lines to guide the right turn (about 70m - 80m on each side), avoiding stopping and parking on the lane for vehicles turning right. The minimum width of the right turn lane must ensure enough space for cars and motorbikes to move, and additional guidance signs will be added.

At the intersection of Ha Huy Tap, Nguyen Sy Sach, and Nguyen Van Cu streets (North Canal Bridge intersection), a soft island or a painted island with an arrow pointing to the right turn from Nguyen Van Cu street to Nguyen Sy Sach street towards Avenue VI Le Nin is arranged; traffic lights are adjusted to have an additional red light period in all four directions so that vehicles in the intersection have time to exit the intersection.
On roads that have been converted to one-way streets (such as Dinh Cong Trang, Ngu Hai, ...), directional arrows are painted on the road surface in combination with signs prohibiting entry in the opposite direction so that traffic participants can easily observe and comply in case they cannot see the sign.
Install median strip on Avenue VI Le Nin at the intersection between Phung Chi Kien Street and Avenue Le Nin. Install median strip on Le Loi Street from the old Vinh bus station gate to the Ly Thuong Kiet intersection to create 2 open spaces in front of the old bus station gate (about 12m) and Ly Thuong Kiet intersection (about 30m)...
At the intersection of Ho Tung Mau and Nguyen Van Cu, traffic lights will be adjusted to allow vehicles to go straight on Ho Tung Mau Street. At the intersection of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Kim Dong, Le Hong Phong, and Hong Bang roundabouts, signs and painted lines will be placed to guide vehicles to turn right in front of the gas station so that vehicles can turn right from Minh Khai to Le Hong Phong; during peak days, traffic lights will be adjusted to include a red light period in all four directions to allow vehicles in the intersection time to exit.
Similarly, at the old Customs roundabout, the traffic lights will also be adjusted during peak hours (depending on the actual situation), so that all 5 directions have red lights, to give vehicles time to exit the intersection.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Vinh City People's Committee to urgently implement these changes, to be completed before February 5.
In addition, Vinh City is responsible for coordinating with the Department of Transport to survey, evaluate, propose, and report to the Provincial People's Committee on a number of work contents such as renovating, widening corners, opening right turns, parking bays, widening roads, service roads...
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Transport to guide, inspect and urge the Vinh City People's Committee during the implementation process to ensure compliance with regulations and progress as required.
