Difficult circumstances of the family of the woman struck to death by lightning in Quy Chau district

We visited Tran Thi Hau's family on the afternoon of May 27 (1 day after her accident), in a level 4 house in Quynh 1 village, where many relatives, neighbors and neighbors came to pay their respects and share the pain with the family.

Mr. Ho Nghia Ung - Ms. Hau's husband recounted that due to difficult family circumstances, at the age of 19, Ms. Hau (from Yen Thanh district) went to the South to work as a worker for a company. They met there and after getting to know each other, they became husband and wife. In 2012, the family happily welcomed their first son, Ho Nghia Kien. Because they wanted to take care of and support their mother-in-law, Ms. Hau and Mr. Ung returned to their paternal hometown in Quynh 1 village, Chau Binh commune, Quy Chau district. Without stable jobs, the couple worked as hired workers to earn money to support their lives.

Ms. Hau and her husband discussed and agreed to try to work for hire, save money in the hope that one day they would have the conditions to repair the house to make it spacious and safe... but before they could realize that dream, on the fateful day of May 26, 2023, at 4:00 p.m., she and a group of more than 20 people went to a mountainous area 3-4 km from their house to plant acacia trees for hire. At this time, it suddenly rained with thunder and lightning. Before she could get to a safe shelter, Ms. Hau waslightninghit people, died on the spot.

Mr. Ho Nghia Doi (Uncle of Mr. Ung) said: "When we heard that Hau was struck by lightning and died, all of our brothers and relatives were heartbroken. Previously, in early March, Ho Nghia Kien (son of Ms. Hau and Mr. Ung), a 5th grade student at Chau Binh 2 Primary School, unfortunately fell and broke his arm and was taken to the Northwest Regional General Hospital for treatment. When the wound had not yet fully healed, another disaster struck the family."

Mr. Le Van Toan - Chairman of Chau Binh Commune People's Committee said: After receiving the information, the Party Committee, the Commune People's Committee and officials in Quynh 1 village promptly visited and encouraged Ho Nghia Ung's family. The locality will report to higher levels to have timely support plans and sincerely hope that philanthropists, organizations and individuals will help and support Ung's family to overcome the pain and soon stabilize their lives.
