More than 1,900 applications for the 10th grade entrance exam at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted

According to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, at the end of the 2023 application period, 1,929 candidates registered for the school entrance exam. Of these, 236 candidates registered for the Math specialized class, 162 for the Physics specialized class, 204 for the Chemistry specialized class, 125 for the Biology specialized class, and 155 for the Information Technology specialized class.

In addition, this year, English continues to be the specialized class with the largest number of candidates registering for the exam with 370 applications. Next is the specialized class of Literature with 333 applications.

In the remaining classes, the number of applications is "lighter", of which Russian has 158 applications, French has 60 applications, Geography has 65 applications, History has 61 applications.

Previously, according to the 2023 10th grade enrollment plan, this year Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted enrolled 526 students into 15 specialized classes. Of which, there is 1 specialized class for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Literature, History, Geography, French and Russian.

The Math specialized class has 2 specialized classes, Math 1 and Math 2, and 4 Foreign Language specialized classes, including English 1, English 2, and 2 specialized classes implementing the Foreign Language Project. The maximum number of students for each specialized class is 35.

The entrance exam to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted will be held on June 8, 2023, with the following subjects: Math, Literature, Foreign Language and 1 specialized subject. Of which, Math, Literature and Foreign Language will be based on the results of the provincial 10th grade entrance exam.

This year, the subjects of Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, and Geography will be tested in essay format. Meanwhile, the specialized Foreign Language subject will include essay, multiple choice, and listening comprehension, and the Information Technology subject will be in the form of computer programming.

Exam score coefficient, non-specialized exam scores are calculated with coefficient 1, specialized exam scores are calculated with coefficient 3. Time to do specialized exams is 150 minutes.
