More than 700 athletes participate in the traditional Sports Festival of the Education sector

On the morning of March 7, at the Provincial Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities,Department of Education and Training- The Education Trade Union organized the opening ceremony of the final round of the 10th Traditional Sports Festival of the Education and Training sector.

Also attending were comrades who are members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Kha Van Tam - Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation; Thai Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Education and Training and many cadres, teachers and staff in the whole sector.

This year's sports festival attracted the participation of 190 teams with more than 700 athletes competing in sports including women's volleyball, men's volleyball, badminton, and table tennis. These are excellent athletes selected from preliminary rounds and cluster-level sports festivals held at the grassroots level.

This year's sports festival is a practical activity to encourage and promote the movement of physical training and competition in agencies, units and schools. At the same time, it is a good opportunity to create conditions for cadres, teachers and workers in units and schools, between districts to meet, exchange experiences, understand and learn from each other, strengthen solidarity, create new momentum and new vitality for work and study.

This is also a meaningful playground, contributing to improving the spiritual life of cadres, teachers and workers in the provincial education sector.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Director of the Department of Education and Training reiterated President Ho Chi Minh's saying about the important role of physical education and sports: "To work well, work and study well, you need to be healthy. To stay healthy, you should develop the physical education and sports movement widely."

At the same time, it affirms that sports activities play an important role for each individual, not only improving health, sports also contribute to intellectual development and personality building, helping people develop comprehensively.

With the above meaning, the organization of the sports festival aims to create a playground for teachers to develop their talents and abilities. From the spread of sports among teachers, it will create a movement of physical education and sports training in schools, as a premise and core to discover talented students to nurture and contribute to building the sports career of the province.

In order for the sports festival to be successful, at the opening ceremony, the organizing committee requested athletes to compete with a spirit of solidarity, enthusiasm, honesty, nobility, and strive for the highest results. On the part of the referee council, it is necessary to uphold the spirit of responsibility, work fairly, objectively, honestly, and in accordance with the law to contribute to the success of the Sports Festival.

After this sports festival, agencies and schools continue to promote the cultural and sports movement, constantly consolidate and expand the types of clubs. At the same time, invest in building new and upgrading cultural and sports facilities; purchase equipment, promote the development of cultural and sports movements in the whole industry.

As planned, the sports festival will take place over 3 days from March 7-9, 2025. The closing ceremony and award ceremony will be held on Sunday afternoon (March 9)./.
