Growth rate reached 10%

On the morning of July 17, the People's Council of Hung Nguyen district held the 8th session, term 2016 - 2021 to assess the socio-economic situation in the first 6 months of the year, tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of 2019 and conduct personnel work under its authority.

Assessing the socio-economic situation in the first 6 months of the year, the People's Council of Hung Nguyen district acknowledged the innovation and positivity in the direction and administration of the district People's Committee and specialized departments and offices with many positive results.

Economic growth rate reached 10% over the same period. Budget revenue in the area is estimated at 106 billion VND, up 58% over the same period. The district has also focused on directing the implementation and accelerating the disbursement of key projects such as: Soviet Nghe Tinh Monument; Central Park Lake; Hoang Muoi Temple expansion project.

The district has also actively coordinated with all levels to establish and approve 22 compensation plans for site clearance for projects in the area with a total approved budget of more than 34 billion VND. The North-South Expressway project is currently receiving site clearance markers and conducting excerpts and measurements for compensation.

The new rural construction program continues to be promoted, focusing on directing 4 communes: Hung Nhan, Hung Thinh, Hung Xuan, Hung Trung to complete the criteria to reach the finish line by the end of this year.

The fields of culture - society, national defense - security continue to receive attention; in which, it focuses on propaganda and mobilization of people whose land is recovered to change their occupations, associated with opening vocational training classes for farmers; ensuring good policies for people with meritorious services, social security; focusing on handling petitions and feedback from the people.

Solving the remaining problems is limited

Besides the changes, there are still some limitations such as: although budget revenue increased compared to the same period, it has not reached the estimate assigned by the District People's Council; some communes have not organized the construction of large fields for commercial rice production; the progress of implementing the New Rural Program for communes registered to finish in 2019 has not met the requirements.

Environmental sanitation work still has the problem of littering, especially on national and provincial highways; some land-related problems and backlogs have not been completely resolved; administrative reform work at some agencies and units has not yet met requirements and the ability to advise and handle work of a number of cadres, civil servants and public employees is still limited.

In order to complete the socio-economic targets for the last 6 months of 2019, the District People's Council has clearly identified the tasks and focused solutions; in which, continuing to direct and resolutely manage administrative reform; enhancing the responsibility of organizations and individuals, especially leaders, especially in the fields of land, construction, investment, business registration, recruitment of officials...

The meeting also elected and voted to pass the resolution to elect additional members of the District People's Committee for the 2016-2021 term for Mr. Nguyen Van Dan - Head of the Department of Culture and Information; and at the same time voted to pass the resolution to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh - Former Head of the Department of Culture and Information, now retired under the regime, from the position of members of the District People's Committee for the 2016-2021 term.
