About the craft villageQuy Chau incenseThese days, the scent of incense wafts in the wind. Everywhere you can see people busy making incense. According to the people, the profession of making incense in Quy Chau has existed for many years and is still passed down to this day.
With its distinctive scent, Quy Chau incense now not only provides a source of incense to serve the spiritual life of Nghe An people but also expands its market to all regions across the country.
Ms. Hoang Thi Hoi - owner of an incense production facility in Tan Lac town said that this time the facility has more than 10 workers who are diligently rolling incense, packing boxes... From the 10th lunar month until the Lunar New Year is the peak season for the incense making village. Every day the facility produces over 10,000 incense sticks. The output is very favorable, mainly customers from all over the place such as Vinh City and some northern provinces.

To fightcounterfeit goods, poor quality goods,This facility has also affixed registration codes and barcodes to the products so that consumers can trace the origin of production. In addition to traditional products such as incense sticks, the craft village also produces new products such as incense cones, incense coils, etc.
To produce good quality incense products, right from the beginning of the year, people must prepare and select the ingredients very carefully, ordering incense roots as the main ingredient combined with other herbs such as star anise, cardamom, sugarcane bagasse, etc. All are ground into powder and then mixed with the ingredients according to the traditional ratio. Incense is made from young cypress tree trunks, cut at the beginning of the year and soaked in mud until September-October, then brought up to be split and soaked in medicine and color, so that it dries without being brittle. Incense is rolled tightly with paper, the edges of the paper are painted with color when rolled up, it looks very beautiful.

Mr. Lo Van The - Head of the Economic - Infrastructure Department of Quy Chau district said that in recent years, agarwood has been the main product of the district, bringing high economic value and creating jobs for many local workers.
Up to now, the incense making profession in Quy Chau has been recognized in 3 villages (concentrated in Tan Lac Town, Chau Hanh Commune, Chau Binh Commune and Chau Tien Commune). The annual output is about 80-90 million incense sticks, the revenue is over 20 billion VND, there are 220 households participating in production, creating stable jobs for 500-600 local workers, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction for the people of Quy Chau district.
In the long term, Quy Chau district is implementing solutions to develop the incense industry, such as developing according to the "product value chain"; planning the development of raw material areas of agarwood, bamboo, and rattan.

Along with that, continue to pay attention to the training of incense making profession, organize for craft villages and production households to participate in fairs inside and outside the province. Implement models of applying science and technology to diversify incense products, including incense sticks, incense cones, and incense coils. Encourage households to produce incense on a large scale, need to invest more in tools and machinery to reduce production stages as well as innovate product designs./.

(Baonghean.vn) - Quy Chau incense has been recognized as a collective trademark by the Intellectual Property Office since October 2016. However, with more than 200 production facilities located in the area, only 30 facilities use the collective trademark.
