Launching ceremony in response to the program of planting 1 billion trees 'For a green Vietnam'
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 19, at Ngoc Lam Border Guard Station, a launching ceremony was held to respond to the program of planting 1 billion trees "For a green Vietnam" with a plan to plant 300 macadamia trees in Ngoc Lam commune (Thanh Chuong district).

Attending the ceremony were comrades Nguyen Quang Tung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association; Colonel Tran Dang Khoa - Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard; Trinh Van Nha - Chairman of Thanh Chuong District People's Committee.
This is an activity implemented under the coordination program between the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and the Border Guard Command, on "Mobilizing farmers of ethnic groups in border, coastal and island areas to promote production, develop economy, culture and society, associated with the task of protecting the sovereignty and security of the Fatherland's borders".

Based on the coordination with the Nghe An Province Macadamia Association to survey and evaluate the soil and climate, the Provincial Farmers' Association and the Provincial Border Guard Command decided to bringMacadamia treeplanted in Ngoc Lam commune.
In addition to Ngoc Lam commune, the macadamia tree planting project is also being implemented at Thanh Thuy Border Post (Thanh Chuong district) and Phuc Son Border Post (Anh Son district).

Speaking at the launching ceremony, comrade Nguyen Quang Tung - Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association affirmed: The implementation of the macadamia tree planting project in Ngoc Lam commune is to respond to the program.plant 1 billion treesLaunched by the Prime Minister, contributing to creating green color, forest coverage, creating a sustainable ecological environment, and combating climate change.
This project also has the pioneering significance of bringing high-value tree varieties that have been successfully grown in the Central Highlands and Northwest provinces to Nghe An province in general and Thanh Chuong district in particular.

The macadamia tree planting project undertaken by Ngoc Lam Border Guard Station will open up a direction for high-value crops to be popularized and expanded for border residents in general and ethnic minorities in Thanh Chuong in particular to plant, contributing to sustainable economic development.
The Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association also hopes that officers and soldiers of Ngoc Lam Border Guard Station will continue to propagate and mobilize local people to actively plant trees and especially propagate and mobilize people to plant macadamia trees when this project is evaluated as effective.
After the launching ceremony, officers and soldiers of the Border Guard Station and officers of the Provincial Farmers' Association, Thanh Chuong District, and Ngoc Lam Commune organized the planting of 300 macadamia trees.
