The clumsy act of a woman who staged a robbery of two Chinese men
(Baonghean.vn) - Due to business losses, Tran Thi Tan (from Thanh Chuong, Nghe An) lured and enticed two Chinese men to come to Vietnam to buy buffaloes and cows, but the main purpose was to rob them of their property.
Awkward Drama
On the morning of September 28, 2019, 3 people (2 Chinese men; 1 Vietnamese woman) came to the Thanh Chuong District Police Station to report that they had been robbed by some people in Ngoc Son Commune, Thanh Chuong District in the early morning of September 27, 2019.
Of the three people who came to report, the woman named Tran Thi Tan (born in 1981), residing in Khai Tien village, Vo Liet commune, Thanh Chuong district, played the role of both interpreter and victim. The two Chinese men who reported, named Dam Trieu Nong and Ha My Cuong, were also victims of the robbers.

Through the process of recording the statements of the victims, the investigators found many suspicious signs, all of them were robbed, but Tan's attitude was completely different from the two Chinese men. On the other hand, Tan's statements appeared to have many contradictions and were unclear. In order to determine the true nature of the incident, Thanh Chuong District Police invited a Chinese interpreter to separate the two Chinese men and Tan for private questioning.
After the investigation, the Thanh Chuong District Police Department determined that the statements of Tan and the two Chinese people were completely different from the original statements. What the two Chinese people said to the police were all translated and changed by Tan into a different meaning, in a direction that was beneficial to Tan, a true victim of a robbery.
However, with the reasonable and tight arguments from the investigators, Tan's clumsy act was discovered. Accordingly, the subject Tran Thi Tan admitted that she had directly directed and arranged the robbery of the two Chinese men mentioned above.
Robbed in the middle of the street
In 1996, Tran Thi Tan moved to China and got married there. Through business connections, Tan met Mr. Dam Trieu Nong. Mr. Dam Trieu Nong proposed to Tan and introduced Mr. Ha My Cuong (Chinese nationality) who wanted to go to Vietnam to buy buffalo, cows and wood, and Tan agreed.
On September 22, 2019, Tan proactively contacted Mr. Dam Trieu Nong and said that on September 25, 2019, he would take him and Mr. Ha My Cuong to Vietnam to buy buffalo, cows and wood, and asked the two men to prepare cash to bring along. Due to losses in business, Tan came up with the idea of bringing these two Chinese men back to Vietnam to rob their property.
As scheduled, on September 25, Tan picked up Mr. Dam Trieu Nong and Mr. Ha My Cuong at Ninh Minh bus station, Guangxi province (China). Here, Tan made an appointment with Mr. Dam Trieu Nong to meet in Lang Son city when he arrived in Vietnam. After that, Tan took Mr. Ha My Cuong to Chi Ma border gate (Lang Son) via a small road to cross the border into Vietnam, while Mr. Dam Trieu Nong entered Vietnam through Huu Nghi border gate (Lang Son).

On September 26, 2019, Tan called a man named Thi in Ngoc Son commune, Thanh Chuong district, who was currently working in Hanoi, to discuss robbing two Chinese men. Tan told Thi to prepare a can of spray paint mixed with alcohol as a tool to commit the crime.
After that, Tan, along with two Chinese men and Thi, went to Nuoc Ngam bus station (Hanoi) to buy bus tickets to Thanh Chuong district. These four people took the same bus to Thanh Chuong district. After getting on the bus, Tan texted Thi about the identification features of Mr. Dam Trieu Nong and Mr. Ha My Cuong and emphasized that among the two, one of them was carrying a black bag and had money.
At 2:00 a.m. on September 27, 2019, when the bus arrived at Ngoc Son commune, Thanh Chuong district, all four people got off the bus. About 5 minutes after getting off the bus, Thi sprayed a spray bottle in the face and robbed the handbags of Mr. Dam Trieu Nong and Mr. Ha My Cuong, inside of which was 56,000 Yuan.
After committing the crime, Thi fled to Vinh City, while Tan and two Chinese men took a taxi to the house of a friend of Tan's in Vo Liet Commune, Thanh Chuong District to rest.

After robbing the money, Thi converted it into Vietnamese currency for 162 million VND and arranged to meet Tan in Vinh City to divide the money. At the investigation agency, Tan confessed to only taking 10 million VND, giving the remaining amount to Thi to hold. After robbing the money, Tan used 5 million VND to pay off debts and spent 3 million VND on personal expenses. During the struggle, Tran Thi Tan handed over an Iphone 7 and 2 million VND.
Based on the statements of the suspect and the victim, Thanh Chuong District Police have decided to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Tran Thi Tan for the act of Robbery. The case has been transferred to the Criminal Police Department (Nghe An Provincial Police) to continue investigating according to their authority, and at the same time organize the arrest of the remaining suspects in the case.
