Young man burned more than 8,000 square meters of forest 3 times to 'take revenge' in Nghe An

Do Luong District Police (Nghe An) has just prosecuted the case, prosecuted the accused and detained Nguyen Van Luong, born in 2002, residing in Hamlet 5, Thuong Son Commune, Do Luong District for 2 months for the act of Forest Destruction.

TBefore that, in Thuong Son commune, Do Luong district, there were consecutive forest fires. Specifically, on June 28, 2019, the acacia forest of Mr. Nguyen Tat Anh, residing in hamlet 5, Thuong Son commune, burned 604m²planted forest, causing damage to 80 acacia trees. On July 11, 2019, in the pine forest area managed by the People's Committee of Thuong Son commune, 132 pine trees burned with a burned forest area of ​​5,215m2.². Then, on July 13, 2019, 725 acacia trees, with a forest area of ​​2,621m²also burned.

Suspecting that someone was setting fire to the forest, the Thuong Son Commune Police Department coordinated with the Do Luong District Police to organize an ambush to arrest the subject. On July 14, 2019, the police force caught a subject red-handed setting fire to the forest. The subject was quickly identified as Nguyen Van Luong. During the struggle, Luong admitted that he was the one who set fire to the forest, causing 03 forest fires in the above-mentioned Thuong Son commune.

During the process of working with Nguyen Van Luong, the cause of the forest fires was clarified by the police. Accordingly, on the night of May 27, 2019, Nguyen Van Luong attended a party at the house of Ms. Le Thi Tu, born in 1999, living in the same neighborhood. Taking advantage of everyone's negligence, Luong stole Ms. Tu's handbag containing 4.2 million VND. A few days later, Luong was arrested by Thuong Son Commune Police and the case was transferred to Do Luong District Police for investigation according to regulations. After that, Do Luong District Police initiated a case, prosecuting Nguyen Van Luong for theft of property.

In order to take revenge for the arrest of the Thuong Son Commune Police, on July 11, 2019, Luong burned down the pine forest area managed by the Thuong Son Commune People's Committee. As for the forest burning on June 28, 2019, Luong was taking revenge on Mr. Nguyen Tat Anh (owner of the acacia forest), because Mr. Anh had previously cut off the rope of Luong's family's buffalo when entering his forest. As for the forest burning that occurred on July 13, 2019, Nguyen Van Luong confessed that he burned it "for fun".
