(Baonghean.vn) - The Provincial People's Committee does not agree with the proposal to temporarily suspend the operations of markets in Vinh City. Instead, it requires strict control at markets where the epidemic has not yet appeared.
The People's Committee of Nghe An province has just issued an official dispatch on strengthening the management of business activities at markets in the area to ensure the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic. This move took place after the People's Committee of Vinh City and the Department of Industry and Trade jointly agreed to temporarily suspend business activities at markets in the city to ensure epidemic prevention.
For markets where the epidemic has occurred, the provincial leaders requested the Chairman of the People's Committee of districts, cities and towns to direct departments and units to coordinate with relevant functional forces to carry out blockades, epidemiological investigations, disinfection spraying... according to regulations. When conditions are met, they will reopen operations to ensure goods are served to people in the area.

For markets where the epidemic has not yet appeared, local leaders are responsible for directing forces to block the entrances to the market, leaving only 1-2 entrances and exits. Arrange forces to control and guide the implementation of epidemic prevention and control measures. Arrange mask sales points, organize body temperature measurement and require hand sanitizer for all traders and customers entering the market.
In addition, people are required to make a health declaration according to regulations before entering the market. Traders doing business in the market must have a valid negative Covid-19 test result.
At the same time, arrange stalls selling essential goods along each aisle in the market, ensuring social distancing to prevent and combat the epidemic. Each business location in the market must arrange partitions and maintain a minimum distance of 2m between buyers and sellers.
Provincial leaders also requested localities to direct functional forces in the area to regularly propagate, inspect, and require 100% of people entering, leaving, and participating in activities in the market area to follow the "5K" recommendations of the Ministry of Health; strictly handle cases of violation of Covid-19 prevention and control conditions.
The Provincial People's Committee leaders requested the Vinh City People's Committee to further strengthen the work of preventing and controlling Covid-19 in the local markets; establish inspection teams to monitor the implementation of Covid-19 prevention and control work and promptly handle organizations and individuals who do not strictly comply with regulations during transactions; research and propose a roadmap to prioritize Covid-19 vaccination for small traders, business households, and workers operating in markets, supermarkets, and commercial centers; Preside and coordinate with relevant departments and branches to develop plans and locations to replace markets for the circulation and exchange of essential goods for people in case many markets have to temporarily suspend business operations to ensure epidemic prevention and control work.
