Nghe An: Deploying the 2019 Population and Housing Census

According to Directive No. 44/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister dated December 6, 2017, from 0:00 on April 1, 2019, the whole country will conduct a Population and Housing Census. This is a national statistical census to provide a basis for assessing the implementation of socio-economic development policies and plans for the period 2011-2020 and developing policies and plans for socio-economic development for the period 2021-2030.
The Prime Minister requested the General Statistics Office to coordinate with ministries, ministerial-level agencies and provincial People's Committees to seriously implement statistical contents and plans according to regulations.

Specifically, according to Decision No. 722/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister dated June 26, 2018 on organizing the 2019 Population and Housing Census, the survey content includes: General information on population, migration status, education level and technical expertise, disability status, marital status, birth, death and population growth rates, birth registration status of children; labor and employment situation, housing status, basic living conditions of households.

The Director of the General Statistics Office and Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Steering Committee for Population and Housing Statistics of Nghe An province pointed out some new points to note in this Population Census, emphasizing: The legal basis and significance of the Population Census; the application of information technology and smartphones in the survey.
The Population and Housing Census is a national statistical census (conducted every 10 years). Immediately after the implementation conference, members of the Steering Committee, Office, and Statistical Investigation Support Team will be trained, guided, and asked questions by experts about the procedures, forms, and application of information technology in the population census.
The training program takes place over 4 days from January 22-25, 2019.
