Nghe An tests and quarantines man who visited Van Don airport and had a cough

On the morning of February 2, Mr. Trinh Van Luyen - Director of Quy Hop District Medical Center said that the unit is quarantining a case with symptoms such as cough and sore throat. This person's sample has been sent to Nghe An CDC for Covid-19 testing and is awaiting results.

According to this person's medical declaration, on January 9, he flew from Tan Son Nhat Airport (HCMC) to Van Don Airport (Quang Ninh). He then stayed in Quang Ninh until January 14, when he took a bus to Nghe An. On January 25, he flew to HCMC and then to Ba Ria - Vung Tau. A day later, he flew back to Nghe An and then returned to his home in Quy Hop town.

This man had been coughing and had a sore throat for over a week but did not dare to go to a medical facility and asked someone to come to his house to give him an injection. It was not until the evening of January 31 that he went to the Quy Hop Town Health Station to make a medical declaration.

Meanwhile,Van Don airporthad to close and temporarily suspend operations since January 28 after a security guard there tested positive for Covid-19. This airport later became a major outbreak, with many people infected.

On the morning of January 30, the Ministry of Health issued an urgent dispatch requesting people who have traveled to and from Van Don International Airport (Quang Ninh) from January 5 to present to proactively go to the medical station where they are staying or the district medical center to declare and receive instructions on taking samples for SARS-CoV-2 screening.
