(Baonghean.vn) - Late afternoon of September 3, the amount of rain in Vinh City has somewhat decreased, most of the heavily flooded roads have drained, and people are able to travel normally again.

According to the reporter's records, on the afternoon of September 3, heavily flooded roads such as Phong Dinh Cang, Le Nin, Nguyen Van Cu, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Tran Hung Dao... have basically drained all the water, and traffic is no longer facing difficulties.

Immediately after the water receded, people on flooded streets gathered to clean up their belongings and collect trash on the streets, especially at the drainage manholes.

Despite heavy rain, according to observations, the amount of garbage on the roads is not much, and the collection work is taking place quickly.

It is known that Vinh City People's Committee has directed Nghe An Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company to increase human resources and means of transportation to flooded areas in the area to clear the flow and clean up; along with the reduced rainfall, the water has receded quite quickly.

However, in some areas of Nghi Phu and Nghi Duc, water is still locally flooding the roads.

Although the water has receded, according to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from September 3 to September 6, in the provinces from Nghe An to Quang Ngai, there will be heavy to very heavy rain (total rainfall is commonly 300-500mm/period). Therefore, Vinh City in particular and localities in Nghe An province need to have specific plans to prevent flooding and landslides, minimizing damage caused by heavy rain.
