The problem with the Post Office Bridge in Vinh will be fixed before New Year's Day.

The heavy rain that lasted about a week ago caused a large area of ​​subsidence on the road surface at the Old Post Office Bridge (the intersection of Le Viet Thuat and Phung Chi Kien streets). After receiving the report, the authorities blocked off the scene, set up a fence, and strictly prohibited vehicles from passing through.

This is an important traffic intersection, located at the eastern gateway of Vinh City with a very large traffic volume, so when the road was closed for repairs, vehicles from Cua Hoi area, Nghi Loc, Hung Loc commune to the center of Vinh City had to change direction, leading to local congestion.

It is known that Vinh City has issued an urgent document directing the quick resolution of this problem. The current solution is to drive sheet piles close to the bridge pier to make the bridge solid, then rebuild the road surface with crushed stone, then install a load-reducing plate connecting the bridge and the road, restoring the original structure.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thang - Head of Vinh Urban Management Department said: "We are currently speeding up the construction progress, expected to complete the repair before New Year 2019 to restore the road surface, ensuring traffic safety for people.
