Thai Hoa town strives for 80% of population to participate in health insurance

(Baonghean.vn) - By the first 6 months of 2016, the entire Thai Hoa town had over 47,000 people participating in health insurance out of a total population of over 65,000, reaching 73.18%. In June alone, 750 people participated in family health insurance, an increase of 3.349% compared to the same period in 2015, bringing the total number of participants to 8,642.

Currently, Thai Hoa town has not yet reached the target of 80% health insurance coverage assigned by the Prime Minister under Decision No. 1584 in 2015 and is lower than the average level of the whole province.

However, achieving such results is the result of the efforts of Party committees at all levels, the government, the health sector and the specialized agency of the town's Social Insurance in propagating and mobilizing people to understand and correctly perceive the Law on Health Insurance and the practical benefits of proactively participating in health insurance for themselves and their families.

Thai Hoa Town Social Insurance staff are guiding customers through the procedures to join health insurance.

Recognizing the special importance of the goal of universal health insurance for ensuring social security, the Town Party Committee and the Town People's Committee have focused on developing the number of people in the area who voluntarily participate in health insurance. The Town Steering Committee has issued a plan and implemented effective solutions synchronously; mobilized the active and responsible participation of departments, branches, organizations, agencies and units; focused on propaganda and advocacy so that people understand and proactively participate. In 2016, the Thai Hoa Town Party Committee directed the Town Social Insurance to organize 6 direct dialogue conferences on health insurance in 6 wards and communes for more than 400 subjects who are cadres, civil servants of communes, wards, schools, block and hamlet cadres in the area. Through the dialogue, the Town Social Insurance leaders directly answered and resolved people's questions related to the health insurance regime.

However, the work of universal health insurance in Thai Hoa town in the past still has some limitations such as: Specialized staff have not yet fully promoted their capacity and are passive in organizing implementation, not boldly proposing solutions to complete assigned tasks; The amended Law on Health Insurance in 2014 has many changes, causing confusion in the implementation process...

Time is running out, to achieve the rate of 80% of people participating in health insurance, along with the determination and efforts of Party committees, authorities and specialized agencies in Thai Hoa town, it is necessary for each person to have a sense of self-awareness and responsibility for themselves, their families and the community in actively responding and participating.
