During the two days from March 24 to 25, not only the youth union members but also hundreds of workers at the Fruit Processing Factory in the area felt extremely secure when coming to work. Because right in the factory premises, where they work, there is a 2.5 m high full-body disinfection chamber installed to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic.

Every morning, workers here line up to wait for their turn to be disinfected when they arrive at the company.

Ms. Hoang Thi Thuan - Secretary of the Factory's Youth Union said: This disinfection chamber was designed and manufactured by the Youth Union members themselves. In addition to the factory's support, the Youth Union purchased additional materials including: iron frame, mica plastic, sensors, mist sprayers... to make the disinfection chamber.

In about 1 week of design and fabrication with the participation of 4 members of the mechanical team, the 3.75 m wide disinfection chamber²(1.5 m wide, 2.5 m high) was completed and put into operation on March 24, 2020. This full-body disinfection chamber uses a fine mist of alcohol solution in a closed chamber.

When someone enters, the sensor will automatically activate the mist spray every 30 seconds. The mist is sprayed 360 degrees to ensure the mist solution covers the entire body, from the top of the head to the bottom of the feet to disinfect. After about 30 seconds, the machine will automatically turn off and we can leave the chamber, helping to disinfect maximally, quickly and safely for people.

It is known that the alcohol solution for spraying disinfectant in the chamber was prepared by union members who are technology engineers. “The cost to create this disinfection chamber is about 7-10 million VND; in addition to the factory's support, union members contributed more. The purpose of the union branch is to protect the health of themselves and the workers working at the factory, and at the same time join hands to repel the Covid-19 epidemic,” said Ms. Hoang Thi Thuan - Secretary of the Factory Union Branch.
