Nam Thanh commune currently has 9 duck farms with sizes ranging from 2,000 to nearly 7,000 ducks. Meanwhile, the Dao River is closed, so the water in the ponds cannot circulate, polluting the environment at the duck farms, so the disease can easily spread.

According to Mr. Ngo Duc Quynh - Deputy Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, for farms adjacent to the previous outbreak of avian influenza A/H5N6, if any ducks die due to the disease, the local authorities will confirm and destroy them, without needing to take samples for testing, as they are considered infected with avian influenza A/H5N6.

Previously, on September 2, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine had tested positive for avian influenza A/H5N6 at the 4,000 duck farm of Mr. Ngo Tri Triem's ​​family in Phu Son hamlet, Nam Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district.
