It is known that on the afternoon of November 4, after hearing the news of Tam's mysterious disappearance, Tam's mother and two relatives went to Tan Son Nhat Airport (HCMC) to buy plane tickets to Vinh Airport to return home to find their child. However, because there were no more tickets to Vinh Airport, Tam's mother had to buy a ticket to return to Sao Vang Airport (Thanh Hoa). During the night, Tam's mother and two relatives had to wait at Tan Son Nhat Airport until 4 a.m. to return home.
As reported, on the afternoon of November 3, Tam and a group of friends cycled to Phu Thuong hamlet (Hau Thanh commune) to attend a classmate's birthday party. At around 4:20 p.m., Tam asked permission to cycle home early because her house was far away and she was afraid it would get dark.
However, by the evening of the same day, Tam's relatives still did not see him return home, so they went to his friend's house to ask and search. During the search, relatives discovered Tam's hat and coat at the foot of Bau Ganh irrigation dam (Hau Thanh commune).
Later, a resident of Hau Thanh commune said he found the bicycle on the bank of Bau Ganh dam so he brought it home. The bicycle was later identified as Tam’s.
