Vinh City: Shops hang signs for take-out as Covid-19 epidemic becomes complicated

(Baonghean.vn) - In localities implementing epidemic prevention measures at level 4 of Resolution 128 of the Government, shops with high risk of infection have all stopped operating, and food stalls have hung up signs for take-out.

Specifically, currently in Vinh City, there are 4 wards applying level 4 epidemic prevention measures (very high-risk red zone) according to Resolution 128 of the Government, including wards: Truong Thi, Le Mao, Hung Binh and Vinh Tan. These are the localities with a record high number of Covid-19 infections after Tet.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hai - restaurant owner in Goong Lake area, Truong Thi ward, Vinh city said: "Due to the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, after the Lunar New Year, I will continue to close the shop, waiting until after the full moon of the first lunar month to see if the epidemic situation has subsided before deciding to reopen. Although the temporary suspension of business greatly affects income, however, for the general safety of the community, I decided to temporarily close for a while...".

Not only Mr. Hai, but also a series of shops in wards at level 4 in Vinh City have hung signs of business closure or selling takeaway since after Tet. These include Phan Dang Luu Street (Truong Thi Ward), Hong Bang Street (Le Mao Ward), Pham Hong Thai Street (Vinh Tan Ward)...

Mr. Hoang Anh Tien - Chairman of the People's CommitteeTruong Thi wardsaid: "After the Lunar New Year, the number of F0 in the ward increased, so the ward strictly implemented epidemic prevention measures. After Vinh City announced the epidemic level at level 4 in the area, the ward thoroughly informed the blocks, propagated on loudspeakers, and signed commitments with business households, especially those providing food and beverage services, to temporarily stop receiving direct customers for a period of time to strictly implement epidemic prevention measures. The ward assigned forces to remind on February 12 and if any business households deliberately violated, they would be punished according to regulations...".

According to the reporter's records, take-away sales will reduce the number of customers and revenue of shop owners, however, most shops are willing to accept it to join hands with the government and people to prevent the epidemic.

According to Resolution 128 of the Government and Decision No. 3896/QD-UBND of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, in localities at level 4, food and beverage services at restaurants and eateries are only allowed to sell take-out, except for restaurants belonging to accommodation establishments serving guests. Other high-risk service businesses such as hairdressers (including haircuts), beauty salons, massage parlors, dance clubs, karaoke bars, internet cafes, video games or other establishments decided by the Provincial People's Committee depending on the development of the epidemic must temporarily suspend operations.

From the beginning of the epidemic season to the end of February 10, the entire Vinh City recorded nearly 5,000 Covid-19 infections. Of which, from January 1, 2022 to now, there have been over 3,000 F0 cases recorded in 25 wards and communes. The entire city currently has over 2,500 F0 cases being treated at home./.
