“The achievements of Vietnam's revolutionary press under the Party's leadership are the crystallization of ideals, tireless creative work, and the spirit of dedication to the Fatherland and the People of generations of Vietnamese journalists,” the General Secretary emphasized.
The new era of the nation is opening up new horizons of development, at the same time, also posing new revolutionary requirements with high determination and great aspiration to build a strong and prosperous country.
In that context, the Vietnamese revolutionary press must further affirm its revolutionary mettle and pioneering role on the ideological-cultural front, be an ideological pillar and a shock force in creating trust and consensus in society; contribute significantly to multiplying humanistic and progressive values, strongly spreading the spirit of innovation and creativity, inspiring learning, work and dedication.

The press must constantly innovate itself to develop commensurate with the stature of the times and the development of the country, truly becoming a professional, humane, modern press, serving the cause of the Party, State and People on the journey of building and developing the country.
To meet that requirement, General Secretary To Lam asked press agencies and journalists to focus on performing well five key tasks.
Accordingly, in the new era of the Vietnamese nation, press agencies and journalists need to deeply perceive their particularly noble political and social responsibilities to the Party, State and People.
In particular, the press needs to breathe new life into the society, arouse determination, patriotism, and a spirit of dedication, creating a great and lasting spiritual motivation for the cause of national development in the new era in the current revolutionary period.

At the same time, it is necessary to innovate the thinking of leadership, direction and management of the press in the direction of building and creating an operating environment for the press to best promote its revolutionary nature and mission of serving the country and the people. Clearly define the functions and tasks of each agency, resolutely not doing things for them or holding their hands.
