Vinh University High School for the Gifted enrolls students in grade 10 with separate exams and separate exam dates.

Notably, this year,Vinh University High School for the Giftedwill organize separate exams instead of taking the same exam on the same day asPhan Boi Chau High School for the Giftedbefore.

Accordingly, this year, Vinh University High School for the Gifted enrolls 350 students for specialized classes: Mathematics, Information Technology, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, English. Of which, each specialized class takes 35 students. The specialized Math class alone is expected to take 70 students and the specialized English class is expected to take 105 students.

Candidates taking the specialized exam will take the base score from the 10th grade entrance exam + priority points (if any). In addition, candidates will have to take 1 specialized subject, including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature in essay format; English in essay, multiple choice and listening comprehension format.

For the IT major, the school will recruit up to 60% of the total quota for the IT exam, the remaining quota is for the Math exam. The specialized subject score is multiplied by 1.5. The specialized subject score is on a 20-point scale. The scores of the 3 basic subjects are Math, Literature and English on a 10-point scale.

According to teacher Pham Xuan Chung - Principal of Vinh University High School for the Gifted: After many years of taking the same exam on the same day and with the same questions as Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, this year Vinh University High School for the Gifted will organize its own exam. This will increase opportunities for candidates and make it easier for the school to recruit students.

This year, Vinh University High School for the Gifted continues to give priority to candidates who have won high prizes in the Provincial Excellent Student Competition and candidates with English certificates or First Prize in Young Informatics. Priority scores range from 1 to 5 points.

Regarding high-quality classes, this year the school has 4 classes with 120 quotas. Of which, priority is given to direct admission of 10% of the quota for candidates who won consolation prizes in provincial excellent student competitions, provincial youth IT competitions or provincial science and technology competitions; candidates with IELTS 5.0 or higher or candidates with a total score of 3 subjects Math, Literature and English from 24.0 or higher. Direct admission is based on priority order.
