(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 21, Hung Nguyen district held a flower and incense offering ceremony to commemorate the patriotic reformer Nguyen Truong To on the occasion of the 195th anniversary of his birth (1828 - 2023), at his grave in Bui Chu village, Hung Trung commune.
At the tomb of the patriotic reformer Nguyen Truong To, officials of the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of the district and Hung Trung commune offered flowers and incense, expressing their gratitude for his contributions.


Nguyen Truong To was a typical patriotic and God-fearing Catholic intellectual. He was born in 1828 in Bui Chu, now Bui Chu village, Hung Trung commune, Hung Nguyen district, in a Catholic family and grew up in a homeland rich in revolutionary traditions.
Nguyen Truong To devoted his entire life to studying and devoted all his efforts to the people, his homeland, his country and the Church. Within 10 years (1862-1871), he continuously sent 58 petitions to the Nguyen Dynasty court proposing reforms and modernization of the country in many aspects...
