Arrest of the leader of a ring transporting fireworks from abroad to Vietnam

Previously, from mid-August to October 2022, Nghe An Provincial Police arrested 4 subjects related to this case, including: Ngo Dinh Manh (born in 1982), Ngo Thi Phuong (born in 1984), both residing in Dien Ky commune, Dien Chau district; Tran Van Phu (born in 1996), residing in Trung Son commune and Pham Van Nhat (born in 1993), residing in Trang Son commune, Do Luong district for trading in prohibited goods (fireworks).

Expanding the investigation, the police identified the four subjects as part of a ring that traded fireworks from abroad to Vietnam led by Ngo Sy Vinh.

During the process of collecting evidence, on December 1, 2022, the Criminal Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police prosecuted and issued an order to temporarily detain Ngo Sy Vinh for trading in prohibited goods (fireworks).

Accordingly, Vinh was the subject who owned a passenger bus running the Laos - Vietnam route. While driving, Vinh colluded with a number of subjects to illegally buy firecrackers abroad at cheap prices, then transported them back to Vietnam to sell for profit.

At the police station, Ngo Sy Vinh initially admitted all of his and his accomplices' crimes.

Currently, the police investigation agency is consolidating the case file to handle the subjects in accordance with the provisions of the law./.
