82-year-old man and woman in Nghe An donate all their lucky money from many years to prevent Covid

(Baonghean.vn) - The Covid-19 prevention and control fund mobilization committee of Hamlet 3, Nghia Thuan Commune, Thai Hoa Town was deeply moved by the sharing of two elderly people over 80 years old, when they spent all the money their children and grandchildren gave them over the years to support the Covid-19 prevention and control work in the locality.

Afternoon of April 5, Covid-19 Prevention and Control Campaign CommitteeHamlet 3, Nghia Thuan Commune, Thai Hoa Town directly received 7 million VND in support for the Covid prevention fund from Mr. Chu Sy Tieu and Mrs. Pham Thi Tham, in Hamlet 3, Nghia Thuan Commune. Both of them are 82 years old this year.

The two elders said that this was the amount of money that their children and grandchildren had given them as lucky money during Tet for many years. Now that they heard that the village was mobilizing the entire population to participate in supporting the prevention and fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, they decided to donate all of this money.

Ms. Vu Thi Huyen, Secretary of the Party Cell of Hamlet 3, said: "The circumstances of the two elders are not very good, living with their daughter, they do not have a pension, and their health is weak... The old man has been sick and bedridden for 3 years now... but the two elders still join hands with the Party and the State to push back the Covid-19 epidemic. Their actions make us very touched."

According to Ms. Huyen, up to now, on the morning of June 6, the hamlet's mobilization committee has called on organizations and individuals to support more than 25 million VND, the highest in Nghia Thuan commune, Thai Hoa town.
