(Baonghean.vn) - On weekends, Hung Hoa Lake in Vinh City attracts a large number of people to come and have fun and eat. It is worth mentioning that many people litter, causing the lake environment to become increasingly polluted.

Hung Hoa Lakeis the largest reservoir in Vinh city with a water surface area of 40 hectares, located at the end of the North canal, in the low-lying area bordering Hung Loc commune, Hung Hoa commune and Hung Dung ward. In 2017, this regulating lake was officially put into use, considered the "green lung" of Vinh city. However, in recent times, this regulating lake has always been in a state of pollution, especially on weekends when people gather to eat and drink and litter indiscriminately.

According to the reporter's records on the morning of August 14, Hung Hoa Lake has a large amount of garbage, scattered on both sides of the road, on the lawn, under the trees, or even in the lake bed. The garbage here is mainly packaging, styrofoam boxes, plastic bottles...

Mr. Nguyen Ba Hung in Hung Dung ward, Vinh city was upset: "Every day when I go to exercise here, I have to wear a mask because of the stench of leftover food and drinks thrown everywhere, especially on weekends, the amount of garbage increases 4-5 times compared to normal days."

It is worth mentioning that although people litter indiscriminately, there is no functional force to check, remind, and handle the situation, making this situation not resolved completely. There are also no trash cans around the lake, so it is inevitable that garbage is everywhere. In particular, the city currently does not allow stalls to open in the lake area, however, some households have also arranged tables, chairs, and stalls to sell food and drinks in violation of regulations every night, which is also part of the reason why there is more and more garbage.

It is known that the Hung Hoa regulating lake was assigned by Vinh City to the direct management unit, Vinh Urban Infrastructure Management and Development Joint Stock Company, and at the same time, Hung Loc and Hung Hoa communes, Hung Dung ward, and Vinh City Green Park Joint Stock Company are also responsible for ensuring the landscape and handling cases of environmental pollution here. However, the coordination between these units has not been effective, causing the pollution situation to persist.
