(Baonghean.vn) - While raising a child under 6 months old, Trang still organized a gambling ring by recording lottery numbers via text messages in Vinh city and Cua Lo town.

The Criminal Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police, said that the unit has just issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute the defendant Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang (born in 1992), residing in block 13, Ha Huy Tap ward, for gambling.

Despite having a child under 6 months old, Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang still organized a gambling ring by recording lottery numbers via text messages in Vinh city and Cua Lo town.

Through the work of grasping the situation, at the end of August 2019, Team 6, Criminal Police Department discovered a large-scale gambling ring with transactions of hundreds of millions per day. From initial sources of information, the Criminal Police Department established a special project to fight against gambling crimes.

Being a sophisticated gambling ring, all transactions of the subjects were conducted via text messages and deleted every day to avoid detection by the police. With large amounts of money being gambled every day, the ring attracted many gamblers in Vinh City and Cua Lo Town.

On September 10, the Task Force deployed 6 working groups to simultaneously raid 6 locations in Vinh City and Cua Lo Town. During the surprise raid, the subjects were caught red-handed with many related exhibits.

The arrested subjects include: Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang; Hoang Van Cuong (born in 1978), residing in Nghi Hai ward, Cua Lo town; Phan Van Son, residing in Nghi Phu commune, Vinh city; Phung Thi Tuyet (born in 1979), residing in block 7, Nghi Huong ward; Vo Thi Hien (born in 1979); Hoang Thi Mai (born in 1962), residing in Nghi Hoa ward, Cua Lo town. In which, Cuong and Son are the two general agents who directly transacted with Trang.

The police seized 8 mobile phones used for gambling. In the initial investigation, the task force clarified that the amount of money the subjects gambled on September 10 was over 210 million VND.

The case is currently under investigation.
