The speech at the ceremony presented by comrade Nguyen Thi Thom - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Hung Nguyen district highlighted the life, background and career of comrade Le Xuan Dao - the first Secretary of the Hung Nguyen District Party Committee.

Comrade Le Xuan Dao, real name Le Manh Than (commonly known as Chat Lu), was born in the year of the Cat (1903) in a poor farmer family in Phu Xa village, Phu Long commune, now Long Xa commune, Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An province. After completing primary education at the French-Vietnamese school and attending the second grade of the French-Vietnamese primary school, at the age of 15, both his mother and father passed away. Le Manh Than dropped out of school and worked to earn money to support his four younger siblings.

At the age of 20, Le Manh Than went abroad to Dang Thuc Hua's Cay Camp in Thailand with an identity card under the name Le Xuan Dao to study and train. He was then sent by the organization to Nghe Tinh to build a revolutionary base and join the Tan Viet Party.

When the Communist Party of Vietnam was born (February 3, 1930), the Party organization system in Nghe Tinh was quickly established, including the Truc - Lam - Giang cell, consisting of 3 people: Le Xuan Dao, Nguyen Huu Nhuong, Nguyen Thi Phia. The cell directly led and directed the revolutionary movement in Hung Nguyen, including the historic demonstration on September 12, 1930.

In October 1930, the Provisional Party Committee of Hung Nguyen was established and elected comrade Le Xuan Dao as Secretary. In January 1931, he was elected by the Party Central Committee to join the Central Region Party Committee and assigned to hold the position of Head of the Finance Department. In 1932, comrade Le Xuan Dao was surrounded and killed by the enemy at Ke Tre Pagoda - a location of the Central Region Party Committee (in Hung Dao commune, Hung Nguyen district today).

Died at the age of 29; with nearly 10 years of continuous and enthusiastic revolutionary activities, comrade Le Xuan Dao contributed much to the revolutionary cause of our Party and people; was a shining example of patriotism, the aspiration to fight for independence - freedom for the nation, prosperity - happiness for the people; the steadfast, indomitable will of a Communist, not discouraged in difficulties, not faltering in dangers, not wavering in challenges, not afraid of death; regardless of any circumstances, always maintaining the integrity and shining the morality of a Party member.

The 120th anniversary of the birth of comrade Le Xuan Dao is an opportunity for the Party Committee and the people of Hung Nguyen to express gratitude for the dedication and contributions of the Secretary of the Hung Nguyen Provincial Party Committee to the Vietnamese revolution in general and the revolutionary movement in the Soviet homeland of Hung Nguyen in particular; at the same time, encourage and motivate cadres, party members and people to follow the example of their revolutionary predecessors to continue to make efforts, uphold the spirit of self-reliance, self-reliance, and the aspiration to build and develop the homeland of Hung Nguyen to become increasingly rich and civilized. The immediate task is to unite and strive to complete the new rural district by the end of 2023 and become a fairly well-off district of the province by 2025.

At the ceremony, the representative of Hung Nguyen district's youth, Deputy Secretary of the District Youth Union - Vo Thi Hien Ly said: "The young generation was born in peace and is always deeply aware that every peaceful moment of life, every achievement that the young generation enjoys today must be exchanged for many great sacrifices and losses of many patriotic Vietnamese children, including comrade Le Xuan Dao".

Hung Nguyen Youth vows to remember the contributions and sacrifices of previous generations, cherish peace, always strive to practice, live with courage, culture, and a sense of responsibility to society, and continue the revolutionary cause of the Party, beloved Uncle Ho and revolutionary predecessors.

Representing the family of comrade Le Xuan Dao, Mr. Le Van Minh - grandson of the Secretary of the Hung Nguyen Party Committee, expressed his emotion when Hung Nguyen district solemnly organized the ceremony to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the birth of comrade Le Xuan Dao; at the same time, he affirmed that promoting the revolutionary tradition of the family and the homeland, the descendants have always tried to live, strive and train to be worthy of the patriotic tradition of their grandfathers and fathers; contributing to the development of Hung Nguyen homeland.
