(Baonghean.vn) - 16 houses had their roofs blown off and 3 electric poles collapsed in a tornado that occurred on the afternoon of April 11 in Chau Thuan commune (Quy Chau).

An electric pole fell on a house during a tornado that occurred on the afternoon of April 11 in Chau Thuan commune, Quy Chau district.

The tornado occurred at around 5pm on April 11 and lasted for about 15 minutes. Bong 1 and Tham villages were the most affected.

In Bong 1 village, strong winds broke three electric poles, one of which fell on a house. Some shops had their corrugated iron roofs blown off. In Tham village, some houses had their roofs blown off.

Mr. Cam Ba Kinh, Chairman of Chau Thuan Commune People's Committee, said: The natural disaster did not cause any human casualties. Currently, the local government is calculating the damage.

According to Chau Thuan commune authorities, the tornado caused 3 electric poles to fall and 16 houses to lose their roofs.

Mr. Kinh added that after the tornado, forces including police and commune militia were mobilized to help people overcome the damage.
