Young man committed 8 robberies in Nghe An and Ha Tinh
(Baonghean.vn) - Tu confessed that in February 2020, he directly committed 8 robberies in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, including 5 cases in Vinh city.
Nghi Loc District Police Investigation Agency said that the unit has just coordinated with Vinh City Police Investigation Agency to successfully crack Project 220X, arresting Nguyen Duc Tu (born 2002), residing in Hamlet 16, Nghi Thuan Commune, Nghi Loc District for robbery.

The seized evidence includes 1 Yamaha Exiter motorbike with license plate 37K1 - 931.97 which was the vehicle used to commit the crime; 1 Iphone 6S plus phone, 1 Iphone XS max phone, many personal documents, motorbike registration, ATM cards which are related assets that the subject appropriated from the victims in the property snatching cases.
According to the investigation agency's documents, at 9:00 p.m. on February 25, a robbery occurred on Nguyen Trai Street, Ha Huy Tap Ward, Vinh City. The victim was Ms. Nguyen Thi T, residing in Nghi Kim Commune, Vinh City.
At that time, Ms. T. was driving her motorbike on the road when a young man on a motorbike snatched her handbag. Inside the handbag were many valuables, totaling over 50 million VND. During the crime, the suspect caused Ms. T. to fall off her motorbike and was injured.
Faced with the developments in the property robbery crime situation, Vinh City Police established Project 220X to concentrate forces, urgently investigate and prosecute. The project team determined that the perpetrator was likely from Nghi Loc district, so they requested Nghi Loc district police to coordinate in conducting investigation activities.

Through the work of grasping, managing the area and expanding the investigation of property theft cases in Nghi Loc district, Nghi Loc district police investigators discovered that Nguyen Duc Tu had many suspicious signs.
After collecting sufficient documents and evidence, on March 18, the two units coordinated to arrest Nguyen Duc Tu. At the investigation agency, Tu confessed to directly committing the robbery of Ms. T.'s property on the night of February 25 on Nguyen Trai Street, Vinh City.
Tu also confessed that in February 2020, he personally committed 8 similar robberies in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces. Of these, 5 were in Vinh city.
