Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hanh - Chairman of Quynh Xuan Ward People's Committee said: In recent days, heavy rains have caused a lot of water to flow into Vuc Mau Lake, combined with high tides and strong winds, causing 70 hectares of shrimp ponds of local people to be flooded and overflowed.
Currently, the shrimp farming area of Quynh Xuan ward is mainly located on the west side of Mai Giang river. At this time, many households have just released new shrimp crop, so heavy rains causing flooding of ponds not only cause shrimp to escape but also reduce the salinity in the water, risking shrimp death.
