Nghe An: Temporarily locked down a village due to community infection cluster
(Baonghean.vn) - The local government of Chau Thang commune, Quy Chau district (Nghe An) has temporarily locked down Xet 2 village, after a cluster of community Covid-19 infections appeared.
On the morning of December 26, Nghe An recorded 117 new Covid-19 infections, including 51 community cases, notably 44 community cases recorded in Ban Xet 2 commune, Chau Thang commune, Quy Chau district.
As soon as the test results are available,Chau Thang communetemporarily blockaded the entire Xet 2 village, with a total of 126 households and nearly 600 people, set up checkpoints to control people entering and leaving the area, and assigned forces to be on duty 24/7.
Mr. Sam Van Hung - Chairman of Chau Thang Commune People's Committee said: "A few days ago, in Xet 2 village, there was a positive case of Covid-19. The commune proactively traced and conducted rapid tests on F1s of this case, and the results showed that 8 people were positive. Realizing the complicated situation, the locality reported toQuy Chau districtand CDC Nghe An asked for instructions. After that, medical staff took samples to test people in the village, the result was that there were 44 cases of community Covid-19 infection announced this morning."

This cluster of community cases is mainly members of one family, estimated at about 20 households. Currently, the locality has traced 188 F1 of the community cases and is taking samples for testing this afternoon (December 26).
Chau Thang Commune is focusing on taking F0s for treatment, and F1s have been quarantined at home to ensure epidemic prevention requirements. Students at 3 levels in the area including preschool, primary and secondary schools have also been given a day off to prevent the epidemic.
To ensure social security for people to feel secure in their home quarantine, Chau Thang commune has assigned youth union members to be in charge of shipping goods to people. People in need of food and necessities will register online or call their neighbors and union members. After the goods are transported to the checkpoint, someone will come out to pick them up and bring them to each house so that people can feel secure in fighting the epidemic./.
