Hung Nguyen farmers speed up summer-autumn rice planting progress
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 6, comrade Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development inspected the progress of summer-autumn crop production in Hung Nguyen district.
In the 2022 summer-autumn crop, Hung Nguyen plans to cultivate 4,200 hectares of rice and more than 800 hectares of vegetables. For the flooded summer-autumn area, about 600 hectares are structured with short-term varieties such as PC6, Khang Dan Mut Mut, TBR279... In the intensive summer-autumn area, the structure is with varieties such as VNR 20, Thien Uu 8, Bac Thinh, CNC111, TBR 225, NA2, and sticky rice 87...

In general, this year's summer-autumn crop is quite favorable in terms of irrigation water, ensuring that people can concentrate on production; the District People's Committee continues to have many policies to support localities in building large fields linked to commercial rice production...

Currently, Hung Nguyen still has some areas affected by the implementation of the North-South Expressway project, so production is facing many difficulties. Up to now, the whole district has planted 1,872 hectares/plan 3,800 hectares, reaching over 49% of the plan assigned by the province, including 210 hectares of rice. To speed up the progress of closed cultivation of summer-autumn areas, the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development requested Hung Nguyen to continue directing farmers to complete summer-autumn crop production before June 20 for the remaining areas; Increase the use of organic fertilizers in production; Implement well the solutions for summer-autumn crop production, especially for the rice planting season.
In addition, the district needs to consider the budget to support and encourage people to produce in the face of rising material prices to minimize the situation of farmers abandoning their fields in the summer-autumn crop./.
