A representative of Vinh International Airport said that since the incident occurred, the unit and contractor have mobilized machinery and human resources overnight to fix the problem with the highest determination to complete it by the morning of July 4 so as not to affect passengers too much. By around 6am this morning, the troubleshooting work was completed and the runway was able to receive flights again. By 8:20am, the airport received the Hanoi - Vinh flight that landed safely, and other flights have also been specifically scheduled to serve the people.
On July 4, Vinh airport had 60 takeoffs and landings, higher than usual, including 7 make-up flights due to runway cracks. The number of passengers also nearly doubled compared to usual with more than 10,000 passengers. In addition to passengers scheduled to fly today, there were many passengers returning to make-up flights due to yesterday's incident. Vinh airport and airlines have increased their forces to ensure quick procedures for people.
