(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Provincial People's Committee and Vietnam Electricity Group agreed to coordinate to deploy solutions to remove difficulties in electricity supply in the area, ensuring production and consumption requirements of people and businesses.

On the morning of June 7, the Provincial People's Committee had a working session with Vietnam Electricity Group on the electricity supply situation during the hot season, electricity saving, voluntary load adjustment and electricity reduction in the province.

Attending the meeting, on behalf of the Provincial People's Committee, there were comrades: Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of relevant departments, branches and sectors.

On the side of Vietnam Electricity Group, there were comrades: Nguyen Tai Anh - Deputy General Director of the Group; Le Quang Thai - Deputy General Director of Northern Power Corporation; leaders of departments and units under the Group.

PROMOTING ELECTRICITY SAVING DUE TO SHORTAGE OF SUPPLY

Since the end of May, the severe heat and the impact of the El Nino phenomenon that has occurred in many places across the country in recent times have increased people's demand for electricity for daily life. Combined with the lack of rain in the northern provinces, the water level in hydroelectric reservoirs is very low, which has greatly affected the electricity supply in the dry season of 2023.

Director of Nghe An Electricity Company Bang Hong Hien said that as of May 31, Nghe An had consumed 1.7 billion kWh, a growth rate of 4%. In May alone, commercial output was more than 380 million kWh, a growth rate of 17%. The highest daily capacity was 920MW, the highest daily output was 17.8 million kWh.

Since the beginning of the year, the power supply situation has been divided into 3 stages. From the beginning of the year to May 3, the power supply situation has been stable, ensuring production, business and daily life activities, the electricity industry has focused on promoting electricity saving. From May 4 to May 6, the hot weather has begun, so the electricity industry has focused on saving electricity and adjusting the non-commercial voluntary electricity load.

In particular, since June 1, due to the serious shortage of electricity, the industry has operated the grid in the spirit of both saving and reducing load, averaging from 134MW - 240MW/day. Despite many difficulties, the Electricity industry is trying to ensure electricity supply for important electricity users and priority customers according to the decision of the Provincial People's Committee.

To ensure electricity supply during the dry season, Nghe An province has issued documents directing localities to deploy solutions to ensure safe and stable electricity supply to serve socio-economic development; promote electricity saving during the dry season and in 2023.

At the meeting, Nghe An province requested Vietnam Electricity to coordinate in resolving existing problems and difficulties in resettlement and supporting the stabilization of people's lives after the 2018 flood; resolving existing problems and difficulties related to compensation and support on the flooded area of ​​Ban Ve Hydropower Project; promptly considering the acceptance and investment in power supply by the national grid for 21 villages, hamlets and Mat Island; allocating resources reasonably and having appropriate operational solutions and power outage plans to minimize impacts on production and business of people and enterprises.

In particular, the Provincial People's Committee requested Vietnam Electricity Group to continue to support and pay attention to investing in timely electricity supply according to the plan to develop industrial parks and key projects in the province. Currently, in industrial parks, there are many large investors and key projects interested in investing, in which investors propose large electricity demand.

At the meeting, members evaluated, analyzed and proposed solutions to overcome difficulties caused by power shortages in recent times; at the same time, discussed solutions to recommendations from the Provincial People's Committee and Vietnam Electricity Group.

ACTIVE COOPERATION TO RESOLVE DIFFICULTIES, PROBLEMS, AND OBSTACLES

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tai Anh - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Electricity Group affirmed that the Group will accompany Nghe An province to resolve existing problems and difficulties related to the Ban Ve Hydropower project; providing electricity to villages, hamlets, and industrial parks in the province.

The Deputy General Director of Vietnam Electricity Group also sincerely thanked Nghe An province for its attention, companionship and support to the Group in the past time and hoped that Nghe An province would continue to support, direct units, increase propaganda to people and businesses and coordinate with the Electricity sector to effectively implement solutions in the task of supplying and saving electricity in the coming time.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung highly appreciated the attention and facilitation of Vietnam Electricity Group for Nghe An province in providing electricity to ensure the production and consumption requirements of people and businesses; At the same time, he hoped that the Group would continue to pay attention to meet the demand for electricity use in the province.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also affirmed that Nghe An will accompany, cooperate and share with Vietnam Electricity Group to overcome difficulties due to the difficult power supply capacity in the past time. And in fact, Nghe An province has paid attention to this work, in which it has issued a Directive on saving electricity in the dry season and in 2023.

Regarding the proposal of Nghe An Electricity Company, the head of the Provincial People's Committee agreed with the promotion of directing the reduction of electricity consumption for traffic lighting systems, advertising lighting, decoration and administrative and public service agencies under its management. He assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over monitoring, inspecting and urging relevant departments, branches, localities, organizations and individuals in implementing the above contents.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over and coordinate with departments, branches and localities to pay attention to and implement innovative solutions, use equipment to ensure reasonable energy consumption levels, and ensure efficient use of electricity. At the same time, assigned the Provincial Radio and Television Station and the provincial press agencies to strengthen propaganda so that people and businesses are more aware of saving electricity and to notify about power outage schedules so that people can plan their daily activities and production.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung also assigned the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board to coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade and Nghe An Electricity Company to review the activities of enterprises in the Industrial Park to develop plans and implement solutions to save electricity.

Regarding the province's recommendations, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to coordinate with Ban Ve Hydropower Plant to review and unify the work and proposed support values ​​for the locality to resolve existing problems and difficulties in resettlement and support to stabilize people's lives after the flood in 2018; at the same time, consider and resolve compensation and support on the flood level of Ban Ve Hydropower Project according to Decision No. 64/2014/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on the Project to support people's lives after resettlement.

Emphasizing that in recent times, the province's investment attraction results have had positive changes, especially FDI capital. Therefore, one of the requirements for these projects is to be provided with a stable power source for production and business activities. Therefore, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that Vietnam Electricity Group will pay attention, support and accompany the province in proposing the Central Government to approve the investment in the construction of a 220 kV station in Hoang Mai town to meet the electricity demand for projects in the industrial park.
