Thanh Dong Commune (Thanh Chuong) celebrates its 70th anniversary and receives the Certificate of recognition for achieving Advanced New Rural Standards

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and Nguyen Van Hang - Deputy Chief of the Provincial New Rural Area Coordination Office; and leaders of Thanh Chuong district.

Thanh Dong is a semi-mountainous commune of Thanh Chuong district. Before the August Revolution, Thanh Dong was Yen Phu commune, including 3 villages: Yen Phu, Trung Phu Thuong, Trung Phu Ha.

After the success of the August Revolution, Yen Phu commune was reorganized, merged, and separated from several communes in the region. On November 18, 1953, Thanh Dong commune's administrative apparatus began operating until now.

During 70 years of construction and development, the Party Committee and People of Thanh Dong commune have continuously made efforts and strived to fulfill the local political tasks in each historical period and the development requirements of the country.

During the resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, Thanh Dong commune contributed human and material resources together with the entire Party, army and people of the whole country to bring peace to the country. The commune was awarded the First Class Victory Medal by the Party and State; Second Class Feat of Arms Medal; Third Class Labor Medal; and Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces.

Peace restored, the local Party Committee and people continued to make efforts to build their homeland to develop more and more, improving the lives and happiness of the people.

The results of building new rural standards in 2015 and advanced new rural standards in 2023 with the completion of 19 criteria on socio-economy, national defense - security, and political system reflect the efforts and comprehensive development of the locality.

The total mobilized resources for new rural and advanced rural construction of Thanh Dong commune over the past 10 years are nearly 200 billion VND; in which the internal resources of the people and socialization account for a fairly large proportion.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Standing Committee of Thanh Chuong District Party Committee, comrade Nguyen Van Que - Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee emphasized: Thanh Dong is a commune with a long tradition of history, revolution, culture and studiousness; this tradition has been continuously promoted by the Party Committee and people of Thanh Dong commune over the past 70 years.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of Thanh Chuong District Party Committee also hopes that the Party Committee, government and people of Thanh Dong commune will continue to promote the tradition of the revolutionary homeland, strengthen solidarity within the Party, consensus among the people, solidarity between religions and the support of children living far from home; actively innovate thinking, ways of thinking, ways of doing, promote the will of self-reliance, self-reliance, the desire to rise up, enrich themselves and their families and contribute to building a commune that meets the model new rural standards after achieving the advanced new rural standards, bringing the homeland to develop quickly and sustainably.
