Arrest of young man stealing while on the run

The Nghi Loc District Police Department said that the unit had just arrested Nguyen Giao Viet (born in 1982), residing in Hamlet 15, Nghi Lam Commune, Nghi Loc District, while he was hiding in Vinh City after committing a theft.

Accordingly, at 5:00 p.m. on June 28, the Nghi Loc District Police Department received a report from Mr. Trinh Anh Tuan, residing in Hamlet 15, Nghi Lam Commune, stating that about an hour earlier, a thief had broken into his family's Internet cafe and stolen a wallet containing 5 million VND and some other documents.

After receiving the report, the district police mobilized experienced investigators and detectives to investigate the case. The authorities identified the perpetrator of the theft as Nguyen Giao Viet.

Through the investigation, it was known that Viet had fled his residence. Following all traces and movements of the subject, at 7:00 a.m. on June 29, Nghi Loc District Police arrested him while he was hiding on Phong Dinh Cang Street, Vinh City.

At the scene, the police seized 300,000 VND, 1 car registration certificate, 1 motorbike driving license, and 1 car license.

At the investigation agency, Viet stated that earlier, at around 4:30 p.m. on June 28, Viet went to Tuan's Internet cafe to play games. Viet went to the refrigerator to get a drink, saw a wallet on the bed and had the intention of stealing property.

After holding the wallet in his hand, Viet hid it inside his shirt and left the shop. On the way, Viet threw the wallet on the side of the road, and spent the remaining 5 million VND for personal use. Afraid of being discovered, Viet rode his motorbike to Vinh City to hide. However, he was arrested by the police shortly after.

Currently, Nghi Loc District Police are completing the case file to prosecute the subject for property theft.
