The Rector of Vinh University wished the new students to "study with all their might, love with all their heart."

On the evening of September 25th, Vinh University held the opening ceremony for its 59th training course; simultaneously, it honored outstanding students of the 2017-2018 academic year and launched a competitive emulation movement to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the university's founding (1959-2019).

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Professor Dr. Dinh Xuan Khoa - Rector of Vinh University emphasized: We are living in a century full of changes, when the 4.0 industrial revolution is on the rise, the state apparatus is gradually being streamlined, and the economy is in crisis.

It's time for us to bravely cast aside old illusions, honestly look at ourselves, see what we have, what we need, and who we want to become in order to change. This is a process that society as a whole, and Vinh University in particular, must face, and it is a reality that every worker in the new era must confront.

If you are not professional enough, you may be replaced by highly skilled workers from other countries. Most importantly, during your years of study at this school, I hope you will discover your strengths, determine your future, and strive your best. Your teachers and the school will support you and work together to design your future…

Professor Dinh Xuan Khoa hopes that students will follow the outstanding examples of previous generations of students, learn in a way that they find enjoyable, and learn things that they truly find useful, rather than learning as a burden or a mandatory task.

The head of Vinh University also stated that, in addition to classroom learning, there are many other interesting things where students can find joy and passion. Students should create opportunities to professionalize themselves by participating in many practical activities at the university. Actively hone their skills, join professional clubs and startup projects, and double their job opportunities by choosing to study two majors...

"Let's write a story of youth filled with joy, even if there are times of failure. When faced with a choice, choosing 'joy' is always better than 'fear'. When we truly want something and are driven by joy, we will have the strength to find a way to achieve everything we desire," emphasized Professor Dr. Dinh Xuan Khoa.

As the new academic year begins, like other universities, Vinh University welcomes a new class of students, the 2000s generation, the students of the new millennium.

“I wish you all to study hard, love wholeheartedly, and live life to the fullest during the most brilliant years of your youth, striving to find your place in life,” said the Rector of Vinh University; he also urged the new students to view their university years as a project to explore knowledge and develop their potential. He encouraged them to believe in their own intelligence and determination.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Dr. Dinh Xuan Khoa officially launched the emulation movement and called on all staff, workers, and students to strive for achievements, leading up to the important occasion of the 60th anniversary of the school's founding.

This year, Vinh University has nearly 3,000 new students. During the opening ceremony, the university awarded prizes to 10 students who were directly admitted, presented certificates of merit to over 170 outstanding students from the previous academic year, and awarded scholarships from sponsors to students from disadvantaged backgrounds and families severely affected by the recent floods.
