Vinh University Principal wishes new students to 'study hard, love hard'

On the evening of September 25, Vinh University held the Opening Ceremony of the 59th training course; at the same time, it honored outstanding students of the 2017-2018 school year and launched an emulation movement to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the school's founding (1959-2019).

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Dinh Xuan Khoa - Rector of Vinh University emphasized: We are living in a turbulent century, when the 4.0 industrial revolution is taking hold, the state apparatus is gradually streamlined, and the economy is falling into crisis.

It is time for us to courageously throw away old illusions, look at ourselves honestly, see what we have, what we need, who we want to become in order to change? That is the process that the whole society in general and Vinh University in particular are going through, it is the reality that every worker in the new era must face.

If you are not professional enough, you can be replaced by high-tech labor from other countries. The most important thing is that during your years of studying at this school, I hope you will find your strengths, determine your future and try your best. Prof. Dr. Dinh Xuan Khoa hopes that students will follow the excellent examples of previous generations of students, learn in a way that makes them happy, learn things that they themselves find truly useful, and not learn as a burden or a mandatory task.

The head of Vinh University also believes that, in addition to learning knowledge in class, there are many interesting things that students can find joy and love. Create opportunities for yourself to professionalize yourself by participating in many practical activities at school. Actively practice your profession, participate in professional clubs, start-up projects, double your job opportunities by choosing to study two majors...

“Let’s write a youth filled with joy, even though there will be failures, but when having to choose, choose “joy” rather than “fear”. When we really want it, and are motivated by joy, we will have the strength to find a way to do everything we want”, Professor Dinh Xuan Khoa emphasized.

In the new school year, like other universities, Vinh University welcomes a new class of students from the 2000 generation, students of the new millennium.

“I wish you all to study hard, love hard, live hard for the most brilliant years of your youth, and strive to position yourself in life,” said the President of Vinh University. At the same time, he suggested that new students consider their university years as a project to explore knowledge and develop their own potential. At the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Dinh Xuan Khoa also officially launched the emulation movement and called on all cadres, workers, civil servants, and students to compete to achieve achievements, towards the important holiday, the 60th anniversary of the school's founding.

This course, Vinh University has nearly 3,000 new students. During the opening ceremony, the school awarded 10 students who were directly admitted, presented certificates of merit to more than 170 excellent students of the previous school year, and awarded scholarships from sponsors to students in difficult circumstances and families who suffered heavy losses due to the recent floods.
