Sentenced to life in prison for carrying drugs from a border district to the city for sale

(Baonghean.vn) - Huynh carried drugs from the border district of Que Phong to Vinh city to trade. He chose the dark of night to do it, but Huynh's actions did not escape the eyes of the authorities.

On May 10, the People's Court of Nghe An province opened the first instance criminal trial of defendant Nguyen Duc Huynh (born in 1989, residing in Tien Phong commune, Que Phong district). Defendant Huynh was prosecuted for "illegally buying and selling narcotics".

According to the indictment, at 9:00 p.m. on December 27, 2017, at the gate of Nghe An General Hospital, the working group of the Anti-Drug Task Force No. 2, Coast Guard Command, in coordination with PC47, Nghe An Provincial Police and Nghi Phu Commune Police, discovered and caught Nguyen Duc Huynh in the act of illegally buying and selling drugs. The authorities seized 2 plastic bags containing 1,987.88 grams of synthetic drugs.

At the investigation agency, Huynh confessed that on the morning of December 26, 2017, a Laotian brought him drugs and told him to take them to Vinh city to sell to a man named Binh for 300 million VND. This man said he would pay Huynh 20 million VND.

On December 27, 2017, Huynh made an appointment with Binh at the hospital gate to trade drugs. While Huynh was waiting at the meeting point, he was discovered and caught red-handed by the police.

In court, Nguyen Duc Huynh admitted all his crimes. The jury sentenced defendant Huynh to life in prison for "illegally buying and selling drugs".
