On the morning of August 31, Dr. Nguyen Van Dinh - Director of Nghe An Center for Disease Control informed: In the past 12 hours (From 6:00 p.m. on August 30 to 6:00 a.m. on August 31), Nghe An recorded 3 new positive cases withCovid-19. Of which, there is 01 community case detected in Vinh City, 02 cases are F1 that were previously quarantined.

Localities recording new positive cases (03 localities) in the past 12 hours include: Vinh City: 01, Yen Thanh: 01, Thanh Chuong: 01

The discovery of additional cases in the community has shown that the decision to continue taking samples for the third screening test for the entire population of Vinh city was completely correct. In the province, 2 localities have not had any new cases for over 10 days: Tuong Duong (21 days) and Quy Chau (11 days).

Last night (August 30), 1 seriously ill patient died at the Tropical Disease Center, Nghe An General Hospital. Cumulative number of patients who have recovered, been discharged from hospital, or transferred to higher levels: 414 patients. Cumulative number of deaths: 03. Number of patients currently being treated: 1,022 patients.

The deceased patient is patient number 166334, female, 63 years old, in Quynh Luu district. The patient had epidemiological contact with her daughter, F0, confirmed positive for SARS-CoV-2 on July 30, 2021. On August 9, the patient's condition worsened, and she was transferred to the Center for Tropical Diseases, Nghe An General Hospital for intensive treatment. The patient was diagnosed with severe ARDS pneumonia due to SARS-CoV-2 infection, pan-resistant pseudomonas aeruginosa infection, drug-induced Cushing's syndrome, Basedow's disease, and multiple joint degeneration. Despite the doctors' best efforts, the patient did not survive. The patient died at 20:18, August 30, 2021. The cause of death was septic shock, multiple organ failure, severe ARDS pneumonia due to SARS-CoV-2 infection, pan-resistant pseudomonas aeruginosa infection, drug-induced Cushing's syndrome, Graves' disease, and multiple joint degeneration.

Regarding testing, in the past 12 hours, the total number of samples received was 4,754. Results have been received for 2,779 samples, with 03 positive cases detected. Number of samples awaiting results: 1,975 samples.
