Nghe An Department of Natural Resources and Environment celebrates 20th anniversary of establishment

Established under Decision 2089/QD-UB of the Provincial People's Committee dated June 12, 2003, on the basis of merging the Department of Natural Resources and a number of state management focal points under the Departments of Agriculture & Rural Development, Industry, Science, Technology and Environment, up to now, after 20 years,Nghe An Department of Natural Resources and Environmentstrive to complete assigned tasks well, creating positive changes in many fields.

In the context of increasingly difficult and complicated requirements for state management of natural resources and environment, the industry has strengthened solutions for education, training, management and supervision of civil servants; actively reviewed administrative procedures to support businesses and people, actively contributing to improving the provincial competitiveness index and perfecting the investment environment... With the above outstanding achievements, the industry has been honored to receive many noble Orders, Medals and Certificates of Merit from the Government and the province.

In addition to the above positive and outstanding results, the tasks and requirements of state management in the field of environmental resources andclimate changeincreasingly complex and unpredictable, in order to successfully carry out the set goals and tasks, the Natural Resources and Environment sector must make new efforts and determination. The 20th anniversary is an opportunity for generations of cadres and civil servants in the natural resources and environment sector to review the past 20 years and at the same time draw lessons to determine larger tasks and goals in the coming period.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the outstanding results of the Natural Resources and Environment sector in recent times, and at the same time suggested that in the coming time, the sector should pay attention to and focus on synchronously implementing tasks and solutions such as: strictly complying with and implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on Natural Resources and Environment; strengthening solidarity and close coordination to build a truly clean, strong, united and unified sector; promoting the spirit of democracy, collective strength and intelligence.

The Department of Natural Resources and Environment needs to build a streamlined, effective and efficient organizational apparatus; a team of responsible, professional, highly qualified officials and civil servants with courage, breakthrough thinking, and long-term vision; continue to strengthen discipline, order, clear people, clear work, clear authority, clear responsibility, clear efficiency, promote the role of leaders; promote digital transformation and administrative reform, closely follow the situation, closely follow reality, advise the province on resource management, environmental protection, and climate change response, ensuring synchronization and transparency.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also noted that the industry needs to proactively have solutions to overcome existing problems and limitations, especially in the fields of land, minerals, the risk of water resource depletion and degradation, exploiting the potential and advantages of coastal and marine areas; actively mobilizing social resources to complete and modernize the province's specialized hydrometeorological station network system; proactively respond to climate change and require emission reduction in planning, strategies and plans to realize the goal.net zero emissionsby 2050 as committed by the Prime Minister.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also announced the decisions and awarded 3 collectives and 6 individuals with outstanding achievements in the construction and development of the Natural Resources and Environment sector in recent times.
