(Baonghean.vn) - Vinh City (Nghe An) will establish 4 more wards of Vinh City on the basis of the original natural area and population size of the 4 existing communes of Hung Dong, Hung Loc, Nghi Phu, and Nghi Duc.

In the coming time, in conjunction with the expansion of administrative boundaries and urban space, Vinh City (Nghe An) will establish 4 more wards based on the existing natural area and population size of 4 communes: Hung Dong, Hung Loc, Nghi Phu, Nghi Duc.

According to the authorities of Nghe An province, based on the provisions of Article 8, Resolution No. 1211/2016/UBTVQH13 and Article 1, Resolution No. 27/2022/UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee related to the standards of administrative units and classification of administrative units, currently 4 communes: Hung Dong, Hung Loc, Nghi Phu, Nghi Duc have basically met 4/4 standards to establish wards under the city including: Population size, natural area, structure and level of socio-economic development, urban infrastructure system.

1. Hung Dong

Hung Dong commune used to belong to Hung Nguyen district and was merged into Vinh city on December 26, 1970. In April 1979, Vinh city changed its administrative boundaries, Hung Dong commune and Hung Vinh commune were merged into Dong Vinh commune.

On June 28, 1994, the Government issued Decree No. 54/CP dividing Dong Vinh commune into Dong Vinh ward and Hung Dong commune.

Hung Dong commune currently has an area of ​​6.41 km2, located in the West of Vinh City; the East borders Quan Bau ward; the West borders Hung Tay commune (Hung Nguyen); the South borders Dong Vinh ward; the North borders Nghi Kim commune.

By the end of 2022, Hung Dong commune had a total population of 17,697 people. Economic structure: Industry and construction accounted for 64.48%; trade and services accounted for 24.5%; agriculture, forestry and fishery accounted for 11.02%. The commune's total budget revenue in 2022 reached 44.52 billion VND, total budget expenditure was 34.5 billion VND.

2. Hung Loc

Formerly part of Hung Nguyen district, it was merged into Vinh city on December 26, 1970 and has been operating stably since then.

Hung Loc commune has a natural area of ​​6.72 km2, located in the East of Vinh City; the East borders Nghi Thai commune (Nghi Loc); the West borders Nghi Phu commune, Ha Huy Tap ward; the South borders Hung Hoa commune and Hung Dung ward; the North borders Nghi Duc commune.

By the end of 2022, Hung Loc commune had a population of 26,218 people; in the economic structure: Industry and construction accounted for 62.5%; trade and services accounted for 19.96%; agriculture, forestry and fishery accounted for 17.54%. In 2022, Hung Loc commune's budget revenue reached 67.26 billion VND; total budget expenditure was 60.15 billion VND.

3. Nghi Phu

Nghi Phu Commune used to belong to Nghi Loc District and was merged into Vinh City on December 26, 1970, with an area of ​​6.47 km2, located in the center of Vinh city.

Administrative boundaries of Nghi Phu commune: to the East, it borders Nghi Duc commune; to the West, it borders Quan Bau and Ha Huy Tap wards; to the South, it borders Ha Huy Tap ward and Hung Loc commune; to the North, it borders Nghi An and Nghi Kim communes.

By the end of 2022, Nghi Phu commune had a population of 24,990 people; in the economic structure: Industry and construction accounted for 41.88%; trade and services accounted for 47.01%; agriculture, forestry and fishery accounted for 11.11%. In 2022, Nghi Phu commune's budget revenue reached 69.5 billion VND; total budget expenditure was 61.07 billion VND.

4. Nghi Duc

Nghi Duc commune used to belong to Nghi Loc district, and merged into Vinh city from April 17, 2008. This commune has a natural area of ​​5.68 km2.

By the end of 2022, the commune had a population of 9,295 people. Economic structure: Industry and construction accounted for 51.21%; trade and services accounted for 38.88%; agriculture, forestry and fishery accounted for 8.91%. In 2022, the commune's budget revenue was 35.65 billion VND; budget expenditure was 28.7 billion VND.
