After inspecting high-tech agricultural production models and the spring rice production situation in Hung Nguyen and Nghi Loc districts, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De stated: Currently, the weather and other factors are quite favorable for rice to grow and develop well, the earliest tea is expected to be harvested in mid-May.
Localities and the agricultural sector need to advise and guide people on appropriate care measures for late spring rice; areas where rice has just finished blooming must pay attention to ensuring enough water so that the rice can accumulate nutrients, firm grains, and produce high yields. At the same time, focus on preparing the necessary conditions to deploy early and proactive summer-autumn crop production.

This year in particular, according to forecasts, summer-autumn production will take place in extremely hot weather conditions, with the risk of drought and early saltwater intrusion. “The agricultural sector and localities must review and balance the amount of irrigation water in the summer-autumn crop; areas that may not have enough water throughout the crop must have a plan to convert the crop structure appropriately. Along with that, land must be reserved for early sowing of rice seedlings to harvest the spring crop and then plant summer-autumn rice,” the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee directed.
