(Baonghean.vn) - The working delegation of the People's Council from Vientiane, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, visited the Vietnam-Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery to offer incense in commemoration of the heroic martyrs on October 21.

Offering fragrant incense and fresh flowers in front of the altar of President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs, the working delegation of the Vientiane People's Council and Nghe An Province expressed deep respect and gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the peace, unity, and international friendship, especially between Vietnam and Laos.

The working delegation also held a ceremony to offer flowers and incense at the Martyrs' Monument and the graves of the martyrs, expressing endless gratitude for the immense contributions of the Vietnamese heroic martyrs, experts, and volunteer soldiers who sacrificed for the peace and independence of the two countries and for the enduring international friendship.

After two resistance wars against the French colonialists and the American imperialists, the volunteer soldiers and military experts of Vietnam on international missions in Laos have always stood shoulder to shoulder with the people of the neighboring country, fighting for truth and the progress of the times.

The delegation sincerely prayed for the souls of the brothers and sisters to find eternal peace; to protect and support the national prosperity and people's well-being; and for the relationship between the two countries, Vietnam and Laos, to continue to develop steadily.

The Vietnam-Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery was built in 1976 with a total area of nearly 7 hectares. Currently, the cemetery is the resting place for more than 11,000 martyrs, including Vietnamese officers, experts, and volunteer soldiers who participated in the fighting and sacrifice in Laos. These heroes devoted their youth to the land of Laos, for the noble cause of international duty.
